Barber County meat judging team wins state

Under the guidance of Dr. Tom Carr, the Barber County 4-H meat judging teams competed at the Kansas 4-H Livestock Sweepstakes Aug. 19.

The intermediate team of Callan Smith, Easton Rector, Hudson Rector and Jack Schreiner won the Overall Intermediate Team Championship. Big congratulations are due to the boys, as this was their first time competing as the intermediate team. In addition, they also won the placings, retail ID, and were second in the questions portion of the contest. Individual (overall) placings were: Callan Smith fourth, Hudson Rector fifth, Easton Rector sixth and Jack Schreine...
