BETHANY, Okla. — Southwestern Christian University dropped its home opener to John Brown (Ark.) 3-0 Wednesday at a crowded Pickens-Springer Gymnasium.

The Eagles lost the first set 25-19 before taking John Brown to the limit in a marathon, 30-28 second set. SCU fell 25-21 in the third set after a late rally came up short.

Cashlyn Munroe and Jamesha Redd each finished with 11 kills on the night. Kami Bratcher followed with six of her own.

Munroe and Baleigh Murphy each notched 12 digs to lead the Eagles. Liv Block and Bratcher added seven digs apiece, while Darian Parsons had six.
