The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Mayor Kelly Parker will sign the annual proclamation on Monday to declare Constitution Week to be Sept. 17–23.

At 1 p.m. following the signing, an actor playing James Wilson, one of the signers of the Constitution, will be on the courthouse lawn near the stage area to talk about his life. Everyone is welcome to come listen to his story.

The DAR is looking for and ready to welcome any new members. The group meets the second Thursday of each month at the Alva Public Library at 3 p.m. September through November and January through May....
