Burlington School News: Cross country comrades

McKenzie Olson, a freshman at Burlington High School, runs against a Canton rival at the Timberlake Cross Country Meet.

This year at Burlington High School we have four courageous cross country runners. On Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. the high school runners had their first meet at the Great Salt Plains State Park hosted by Timberlake High School. Kale Pierce, Timberlake coach, was in charge of the meet and mapped out all the courses for the junior high and high school students. For a small meet with only ten teams participating, Burlington made their mark.

Placing only to the Top 15, high school girls had to run 1.5 miles and the high school boys had to run 2 miles. Despite the weather being 98 degrees, Anna Motycka p...
