OC Women's Soccer: Milner sets career high for saves in loss at Rogers State

October 5, 2018

CLAREMORE, Okla. (Oct. 4, 2018) – Addison Milner had perhaps the greatest game of her career as an Oklahoma Christian goalkeeper on Thursday, keeping the Lady Eagles close all the way against Heartland Conference power Rogers State.

Milner made a career-high 15 saves, but Rogers State scored in the 63rd minute at Soldier Field and made it stand up for a 1-0 win over OC.

Milner, a junior from Corinth, Texas, recorded the most saves in a game this season by a Heartland Conference goalkeeper and increased her league-leading season total to 72. Her 15 saves were the most by an OC goalkeeper in a game since Lindsey Williams made 18 against Central Oklahoma on Sept. 9, 2014.

Rogers State (7-3-1, 4-2-1 Heartland) outshot OC 32-2 and constantly kept pressure on Milner, but she responded time and again, making eight saves in the first half and seven in the second half.

The goal she did allow came on a bang-bang sequence in the 63rd minute, as the Hillcats' Bria Salazar hit the crossbar with a shot and her teammate Kori Watters collected the loose ball and scored off the rebound from right in front of the goal.

Corina Marin took both of OC's shots, in the first minute and the 89th minute. Both required saves by Rogers State goalkeeper Taylor Sargent.

OC (0-10, 0-7) will return home to host Heartland rival Lubbock Christian (Texas) at noon on Saturday.
