The Woods County Retired Educators Association (WCREA) met at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 20 at the Alva Public Library.
Dr. Christee Jenlink, associate dean of the School of Education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, was the guest speaker.
Jenlink talked about the Teacher Education Program at the university and efforts to promote interest in the teaching profession. She introduced Ethan Kennedy, who received WCREA's scholarship for 2018. Kennedy is a senior at Northwestern majoring in health and sports science.
