Helena man dies of injuries from wreck

A Helena man has died of injuries received in a Tuesday, Oct. 16, two-vehicle collision. The wreck occurred at 10:15 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 640 and County Road Cimarron in Alfalfa County. The location is one mile west and two miles north of Helena.

Charles E. Fesmire, 67, of Helena, was pronounced deceased at 11:11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at OU Medical in Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 2013 Chevrolet K2500 pickup driven by Tracy Todd McCollum, 52, of Helena, was eastbound on County Road Cimarron. Fesmire was southbound on CR640 in a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox. McCollum failed to stop at at a stop sign and struck the Fesmire vehicle.

McCollum was not injured. Fesmire was transported by Air Evac of Woodward to OU Medical Center with head and trunk internal injuries.
