Women's Soccer: SWOSU's Sandra Nabweteme Claims GAC Offensive Player of the Week Honor

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – SWOSU Soccer junior forward Sandra Nabweteme was has been named the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season. The award was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Nabweteme earns the award for the third time in her career after playing a key role in the Bulldogs offensive attack this week recording four goals and three assists to total 11 points. She registered a hat trick against Oklahoma Baptist scoring all three of SWOSU's goals in the match and would add one goal against Southern Nazarene as well as assisting on three other Bulldog scores. Nabweteme leads SWOSU in the assist category with 14 and is second on the team in goals at 19 and points totaling 52.

Nabweteme is the fifth different SWOSU Soccer player to win a GAC Player of the Week award this season, and the third different one to win the GAC Offensive Player of the Week joining Alimata Rabo and Memory Phiri. SWOSU Soccer has now won nine GAC Player of the Week awards this season.

The Bulldogs will be in action on Thursday, as they take on Harding in the semifinals of the GAC Tournament held in Shawnee at 3:00 pm.
