2 dead in small plane crash in suburban Denver

BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) — Two people have died in the crash of a small home-built airplane in suburban Denver.
North Metro Fire Rescue spokeswoman Sara Farris says the single-engine plane crashed shortly before noon Friday in open space near homes in Broomfield, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) north of Denver.
Farris says no one on the ground was hurt, although the crash occurred near paved trails and people were walking nearby.
The victims' names haven't been released. Farris says they were the only people on board.
