Alva Robotics Team wins awards at HeartlandBEST competition

Alva Robotics team, Technic Gold, competed in the Heartland BEST competition on Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Alva Recreation Complex. Their robot, Dr. Sea, was given the award for being the most robust robot. Their team won the T-shirt contest and their coach, April Ridgway, was chosen as Coach of the Year. The team was excited to make it to the semi-finals and disappointed that they did not advance to regionals. Undaunted, they are already planning for next year's competition and will have their next meeting on Jan. 19, 2019, at the Alva Public Library.
