Women's Basketball: Lady Tigers Win in Home Opener

Arkadelphia, Ark- The Ouachita Lady Tigers came out with the win in their home opener against Central Baptist University by a final score of 81-64. Not only did they bring home the win, but it was also head coach Gary Crowder's 750th career win.
Central Baptist shot 34.7% from the floor as a team, picked up 38 rebounds, and had 22 points in the paint. As for the Tigers, they shot 42.4% from the floor, grabbed 41 rebounds, and had 28 total points in the paint.
Leading tonights charge for the Tigers was Sophomore forward Eden Crow (Texarkana, Ark) who had 23 points, grabbed 16 total rebounds, picked up 3 assists, and added a single block and steal on the night.
Behind Crow, was Senior guard Alivia Huell (Malvern, Ark) who put up 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Maija Gerstone (Liepaja, Latvia) also added to the Tiger effort with 14 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Following the win for the Lady Tigers, head coach Gary Crowder earned his 750th career win. Crowder is in his 41st year of coaching, and in currently in his 24th season as the head coach for the Lady Tigers. With the win tonight, Crowder now has a total of 361 wins for Ouachita, which is the all-time record for most wins in the history of the Lady Tiger program. In his time at Ouachita, Crowder's teams have either been ranked in the Division II Top 25 or received votes to be in the poll 11 times.
