Lady Rangers Basketball falls to UCO in season opener, 64-53

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Northwestern Oklahoma State University women’s basketball team got off to a hot start early in its season opener against Central Oklahoma on Friday, only to fall to the Bronchos 64-53 in Tahlequah.

It was the first game of the Mid-American Collegiate Athletic Association/Great American Conference crossover event taking place at Northeastern State.

NWOSU started Friday’s contest on fire as they jumped out to a 14-0 lead, ultimately holding onto a 22-6 advantage after the first quarter. Jakeria Otey had 10 of her 20 points in the first quarter of play.
