Alva man charged with first degree burglary

An Alva man is facing an attempted burglary charge after he allegedly tried to break into a residence occupied by a home daycare.

According to court records, on Monday, Nov. 12, about 11:18 a.m. Woods County Deputy Adam Honeyman went to the home of Derrick and Terri Walcott on Ridgeway Road in Alva. Woods County E-911 dispatch had received a call that Kenneth Shafer was threatening bodily harm to Derrick Walcott and was on the way to the Walcott residence.

A few minutes later, Honeyman received another call from dispatch that the Walcotts reported Shafer was at the back door of their residence...
