A search warrant for an Alva address resulted in charges being filed for drug possession and child neglect.

According to court documents, on Oct. 12 at 9 p.m. members of the Alva Police Department and the Woods County Sheriff’s Office executed the search warrant at the residence of Dillon Nethercutt and Natalie Fuller in the 1100 block of Mill St.

In a back bedroom, officers located a clear baggie containing 16.1 grams of a green leafy substance identified as marijuana and a black digital scale. Three cellphones were also located in the bedroom In Nethercutt’s wallet was found $147 in cash.

In a post-Miranda interview, Nethercutt told Alva Police Officer John Caviness he had the marijuana delivered to his residence just prior to the appearance of law enforcement. He also explained that the three young boys under the age of five years old who were present were his nephews. He had asked a family member to bring the boys to his residence so he could spend time with them.

On Nov. 13, Dillon Von Nethercutt, 27, of Alva, was charged with unlawful possession of controlled drug (marijuana) with intent to distribute and with child neglect. Both are felonies. The possession charge carries a penalty of no more than five years imprisonment and a fine of not more than $20,000. The child neglect charge is punishable by imprisonment not exceeding life, or a fine not less than $500 nor more than $5,000, or both fine and imprisonment.
