A Helena man died and two people from Missouri were critically injured in a collision in Major County Friday. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says James F. Drawbridge, 56, of Helena, was pronounced dead at the scene from head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries. He was taken to the Fairview Funeral Home.

The collision occurred at 12:02 p.m. on State Highway 58 about a mile south of Fairview. Drawbridge was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado south on State Highway 58. Thomas F. Crelly, 70, of Stratford, Missouri, was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram pulling a 2015 Cougar fifth-wheel travel trailer and was northbound on State Highway 58.

For an unknown reason, Drawbridge’s vehicle went left of center, striking the Crelly vehicle. Thomas Crelly was pinned for approximately 30 minutes and a passenger, Kathleen Crelly, 69, of Stratford, Missouri, was pinned for approximately 15 minutes. Both were extricated by the Fairview Fire Department using the Jaws of Life.

Thomas Crelly was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in critical condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries.

Kathleen Crelly was taken by Air Evac to OU Medical in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in critical condition with head and trunk internal injuries.

Trooper Donald Kraft investigated, assisted by Troopers Trent Cagle, Jeff Jech, Darrin Lancaster and OHP Lt. Bill Reitz. Also helping at the scene were the Major County Sheriff’s Office, Major County EMS, Fairview Police and Fairview Fire Department.
