ECU Women's Basketball Claims 58-52 Victory Over Northern State

EMPORIA, KAN. – The East Central University women's basketball team used a strong second quarter to claim a 58-52 victory over Northern State, in the first game of the Emporia State Thanksgiving Classic.
Scoring
1st Quarter: 16-14
The Tigers (2-1) started the game with a 4-0 run
The Wolves (2-2) followed with a 4-0 run of their own
The teams traded runs until NSU led 11-10 (4:44)
ECU earned the lead with a 6-3 run in the remaining time
2nd Quarter: 21-5 (37-19)
The Tigers opened the quarter with a 19-0 run in the first eight minutes
NSU finished the quarter with a 5-2 run
3rd Quarter: 7-13 (44-32)
Neither team scored in the first 1:30
The Wolves then went on a 4-0 run over 1:30 minutes (39-23)
The teams traded shots for two minutes
Then both went cold for the remaining time
NSU was the only one to score, with a 6-0 run
4th Quarter: 14-20
The teams traded shots, with the lead getting down to 49-39 (6:44)
Both teams cold for two minutes
4:58 – NSU free throw cut the deficit under 10 points (49-40)
