Hillcats Fall at Drury to Continue 3-Game Road Trip

CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Rogers State women's basketball team suffered an 88-46 loss at Drury on Thursday (Nov. 29) night at the O'Reilly Event Center in the second game of a three-game road trip.

After Lauren Schuldt tied the score at 7-7 in the first quarter, the Panthers (7-0) ended the first stanza on a 20-4 run to go up 27-11 after 10 minutes.

DU continued to push and held a 46-21 edge at halftime. The Panthers went out to pull away for the 88-46 victory.

Schuldt finished with a team-high 12 points and grabbed five rebounds. Desiree Nelson hit three 3-pointers for nine points.

The Hillcats shot 31.3 percent (15-48) from the field and 23.1 percent from 3. Drury's defense forced RSU into 35 turnovers.

The Panthers posted 51.6 percent (32-62) from the field in the game, including 58.6 percent (17-29) in the second half. DU shot 50 percent (10-20) from 3, but also had 28 turnovers in the game as the two teams combined to turn the ball over 63 times.


Four Panthers registered double figures in scoring. Paige Robinson paced DU with 23 points off the bench in only 19 minutes. She hit four 3-pointers. Hailey Diestelkamp went for 19 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for a double-double. Payton Richards (14 points) and Lauren Holmes (11 points) also hit double digits in scoring for DU.

The Hillcats are back in action this Saturday (Dec. 1) at Missouri Southern at 1:30 p.m. in Joplin, Missouri. Live stats along with video and audio streaming will be available.
