Women's Basketball: Lions Pull Away in the 2nd Half to Down Hillcats, 70-51

JOPLIN, Mo. – Missouri Southern pulled away with a late first-half run and extended the margin in the second half en route to a 70-51 win over the Rogers State women's basketball team on Saturday (Dec. 1) at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.

With the score tied at 26-26 with 2:30 remaining before halftime after a Desiree Nelson 3-pointer, the host Lions ended the quarter with a 7-0 run to take a 33-26 lead into the break. The spurt was capped by a Morgan Brightwell 3-pointer in the final minute of the half.
