Freedom Public School invites the Freedom community to come and watch a mix of elementary and high school students present the Christmas play "Jingle Jury." The production will be on Friday, Dec. 21, in the Freedom School's auditorium and begin with the matinee at 1:30 and the evening show at 7 p.m.

Admission is free but there will be a "sleigh" for donations of non-perishable food items for the local food bank and stuffed animals or toys to be given to local organization. There will also be a cash donation jar.

The synopsis of the play is as follows: The Candy Cane Courthouse is now in session, and the jury is seated. The defendant, young Jem Dandy (played by Brooke Denham), has called Christmas spirit "a lot of nonsense ,: but that won't fly in the Christmas court of justice!

In comes a colorful parade of Christmas personalities, including a reindeer-in-training (Cheyenne Benfield) and an angel from atop a Christmas tree (Dreama Jones), all trying to prove Jim wrong. Jim tries to defend himself, but it's hard when even Mrs. Cratchit (Tamlynn Link) and Tiny Tim (Casey Luddington) make an appearance.

It's up to the Toy Maker (Cameron Denham) to discover why Jim is acting so strangely. The answer involves a teddy bear and some bad kids who aren't so bad after all. You'll be surprised at how the verdict is reached.
