The focus of the Woods County Economic Development Committee (WCEDC) is infrastructure and industrial recruitment says Director Sonja Williams. They generally stay out of retail development, leaving that to the city organizations. However, Williams says she finds herself assisting on several of those city projects.

She told the committee Tuesday that she has been working with Freedom West on a downtown Alva project. She helped the City of Alva on a grant application.
