Burlington students presented their annual Christmas music program on Tuesday, Dec. 28, under the direction of music instructor Mr. Isi Ofiu. The theme of the program was Jingle Bell Jukebox.

The auditorium was overflowing with fun '50s décor made by the students and teachers such as milkshakes, records, poodle skirts, saddle oxfords and a jukebox, as well as snowflakes and Christmas trees and an authentic old-fashioned soda booth.

The festive evening began with students surrounding the darkened auditorium with a candlelit rendition of "Silent Night," as costumed first graders presented a nativity scene on stage.

The pre-K students sang for the audience and loudly proclaimed what they wanted Santa to bring them for Christmas.

Both the elementary and high school bands presented well-played versions of "Jingle Bells," "My Dreydl" and "Do You Hear What I Hear?" The fourth- through sixth-grade choir entertained with a creative humorous collection called "Various Themes on Fa-La-La" highlighting the William Tell overture, Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, Strauss' On the Beautiful Blue Danube and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.

The seventh through 12th grades also presented a fun a cappella tune, "Calypso Carol," featuring soloists Lauren Lagos, Anna Motycka, Kayli Stewart, Brenner Clark and Jayten Davis.

The evening ended with the kindergarten through third-grade students, dressed in '50s attire, presenting "The Jingle Bell Jukebox," featuring a medley of '50s style holiday songs such as "Frosty's Hand Jive" with antics and actions that kept the audience laughing.
