Goldbugs get their first win

The game featured three players in a balanced scoring attack by the Bugs.
The Alva Goldbugs won 70-59 at home over the Tonkawa Buccaneers in Tuesday night's match-up.
The Buccaneers started out hot in the first half as they outscored Alva 34-25 in the half. Tonkawa outscored the Goldbugs 19-10 in the first quarter. The second quarter proved to be a closer game as both teams scored 15 points.
Alva bounced back in the second half, going red hot in both quarters. The Bugs scored 24 points in the third while holding the Buccaneers to 7 points in the quarter.
Reece Martin led the way in scoring with 10 points. Donald Blalock added 5 points.
Alva continued its scoring attack as they ended the quarter 21-8. Dylan McGuire led the way with nine.
Stats
Alva had four players in double figures. Reece Martin led the way for the Bugs with 18 points (career high), followed by Donald Blalock's 17 points (career high); Dalton Rose scored 12 points, and Dylan McGuire scored 10 points (career high). Mitchel Meyer also added nine points in the game.
Tonkawa countered with two players in double figures. Iassc Carry scored a game high 23 points followed by Cameron, who had 19 points.
