I like small towns

I’ve always preferred small towns. When I was born my parents lived at “a wide spot in the road” in a small Missouri community that was not officially a town. I spent the next 17 years in an actual town that eventually reached 1,000 population.

My husband Lynn always said you can get things done, even on the weekend, in Alva. It’s that small town cooperation and friendliness.

Last week, Lynn had his first chemotherapy treatment in Oklahoma City. It made me appreciate how much easier the whole thing was when we could go to Enid before they closed the Mercy oncology clinic there. Enid is not wha...
