Topeka worker finds injured homeless man with dog

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — An employee of a business at a Topeka shopping center found an injured homeless man curled up in a fenced-off area with a small black dog at his side.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports the homeless man told the employee who found him Wednesday at the Holliday Square shopping center that he had fallen and hurt his hip and had been laying there about seven days.

Two snowfalls had occurred during that time with temperatures dipping into the single digits.
