ECU Men's Basketball Earns 10th-Straight Victory Over Henderson State

ADA – The East Central University men's basketball team picked up its 10th-straight victory over Henderson State, claiming an 82-63 victory in Great American Conference action at the Kerr Activities Center.

Scoring

First Half: 39-28

The Tigers (10-6, 7-4 GAC) started the game on an 11-4 run in the first four minutes

The Reddies (12-6, 7-5 GAC) cut the deficit to four (14-10) over the next three minutes

ECU earned its first double-digit advantage (20-10), with 10:33 remaining

HSU pushed back, but was only able to cut the deficit to six (29-23) over the next five minutes

The Tigers quickly pushed the lead back to double-digits (33-23) in the next minute

ECU kept the advantage between 11-13 the rest of the stanza

Second Half:43-35

The Tigers kept up the pressure and increased the lead to 21 (52-31) in the first 6:30 minutes of the period

The Reddies were only able to get to a 15-point deficit and led by as many as 23 (73-50) in the remaining time

Jr. Camron Talley led the team with 26 points and moved up two spots on the ECU 1,000-Point Club list

The biggest difference came at the free throw line

The Tigers made more shots than they allowed the Reddies to attempt

ECU: 27-of-34 (79.4%) / HSU: 10-of-19 (52.6%)

The Tigers 27 free-throws are a season-best

ECU earned a 50-33 advantage on the boards

The Tigers are ranked fourth in the GAC standings at 7-4

Southern Nazarene, Southern Arkansas and Oklahoma Baptist are tied for first (9-2)

Team is also raising money for the American Cancer Society
