The first quarter of the game was a high-scoring contest as Alva led Cashion with a score of 16–15. Alva found its offense primarily from three players this quarter: Acacia Charles, who made two lay-ups in the post; followed by Payton Jones, who scored five in the quarter, all of her points coming from the foul line; and Chloe Durkee, who made a three-point basket followed by two free throws.
