SB grad Hostetler recipient of $160,000 scholarship through University of Wisconsin-Madison

She's one of 33 in nation to receive this scholarship

Kacee Hostetler, a 2017 graduate of South Barber High School from Kiowa, Kansas, is pursuing a degree in industrial engineering at the University of Wisconsin. That's after earning a full out-of-state tuition scholarship, roughly $160,000, through the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Powers-Knapp Scholarship Program.

Take a look at the attractive 19-year-old Kacee Hostetler with long golden hair – and you think of a high school graduate who was undoubtedly a cheerleader. Well, she was. She is also a young woman who thinks Calculus III "seems harder than it is."

She referred to the movie "Hidden Figures" that told the story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program. Hostetler said she understood when the women said that you have to step back from your equations to see the three dimensions.
