Last year’s calendar was weary with special days, celebrations, anniversaries and appointments while 2019 is stacking-up to be the same.

February was, for the second year, the slowest month at the Elegant Toad, a trend hopefully ending in 2019, but looking at the calendar, February is a busy month with Valentine’s Day, President’s Day and the birthday celebrations for Washington, Lincoln and Chaffee.

According to the 2019 edition of The Old Farmer’s Almanac, itself founded in 1792, February comes from the Latin word februa, which means “to cleanse.”
