BUILDING PURCHASED FOR NEW CHURCH – (From left) Randon Miller, Kristi Miller and Cody Anderson cut the red ribbon to mark the purchase of 310 College Ave. as the newest campus of Faith Center Fellowship, a non-denominational Christian church with a modern style of worship. The main campus of Faith Center is in Meno, where Anderson is the senior pastor. Another campus of the church was launched in Cherokee two years ago. The Millers – Alva natives who met while attending Alva High School – moved back to Alva with their six children to start Faith Center's Alva campus. For the past year, they've held services out at the Woods County Fairground on Sunday nights, but have recently begun holding them at the Alva High School auditorium. Small-group Bible studies are also active, held on Wednesday nights. The newly purchased building on College isn't ready for occupancy yet – it needs some significant renovation – but the Millers hope it will be ready within a year and a half, and will accommodate about 300 people. Look for an in-depth profile of the Millers in next Friday's paper.
