Oklahoma court affirms sentence in dismemberment death

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has upheld the life prison sentence of a woman convicted of murder for helping to dismember her ex-husband's body, which was found underwater in cement-filled buckets.

The court ruled Thursday in the case of 37-year-old Amber Marie Andrews, who was convicted in Garvin County of first-degree murder and other charges in the August 2012 death of Brandon Duran.

Duran's body was found in a pond near Pauls Valley, about 60 miles south of Oklahoma City. A second defendant, 37-year-old Justin Hammer, was convicted of first-degree murder...
