Waynoka man charged in vehicle fire

A Waynoka man has been charged with arson involving a vehicle owned by Bud Shelton.
According to court records, on Feb. 1 about 7 p.m. Waynoka Patrolman Adam Barlow received a call from dispatch that one of the Waynoka volunteer firemen, Austin Durkee, had reported a fire on his property near the north end of Cedar Street.
As he approached, Barlow saw flames from the property and noticed an older man, Shelton, unlocking a chain that was obstructing the entrance to the property. A 2000 four-door sedan was on fire. Durkee was already on the scene in his fire gear and proceeding to control the...
