Ponca City man charged with drug distribution

A Ponca City man is facing a felony drug charge in Woods County following a traffic stop. According to court records, the man was stopped after passing in a marked no-passing zone on a curve. Passing a deputy in a marked patrol vehicle and causing an oncoming Highway Patrol trooper to swerve to avoid a collision just made everything worse.
The incident occurred Tuesday, Feb. 5, about 4:30 p.m. on US64 near County Road 230. Deputy Adam Honeyman was driving the sheriff’s department vehicle and made the traffic stop. The oncoming OHP Trooper was Cody Creswell.
