Alivia Huell Shows Out for Lady Tigers in Alva

ALVA, Okla. – Ouachita Lady Tiger's take Northwestern Oklahoma State to the wire, but they would fall in the end 71-60.

The Lady Tigers were led by senior Alivia Huell who put in 17 points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Eden Crow added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Maija Gertsone scored 13 points, had four rebounds and four assists.

Ouachita would score the first basket of the game as Madison Brittain would drop in a layup at the 9:27 mark in the game. After the first bucket both teams locked in defensively as neither team would score for over two and a half minutes. The Tigers would take an 8-4 lead on back to back buckets by Eden Crow. Ouachita would take the 11-10 lead entering the second quarter.

In the second quarter the Lady Tigers would allow the Rangers capture the lead and build a 22-15 advantage. Ouachita would answer going on a 10-3 run to tie the game at 25 on an Eden Crow jumper. A Maija Gertsone three would give the Tigers a one point lead at 29-28 going into the break.

Out of the break the Lady Tigers would come out determined as they would. Take a four point lead. Ouachita would go scoreless for four minutes until Jakyya Clay's offensive rebound and layup would cut the Ranger lead to five at 44-39. The Tigers would keep it close until fouls and technical fouls would allow the Rangers to take a 49-41 lead into the fourth quarter. In the last quarter the Lady Tigers would run out of steam and fall in the end 71-60.

Alivia Huell now has 833 career points, and Madison Brittain is now only 20 points away from 900 career points.
