Muleriders undone by ice-cold shooting

Ada, Okla. – The SAU Women's Basketball team lost their road finale this afternoon, scoring a season-low in points in the process.
East Central scored 65 points and held the Muleriders to 27 points over four quarters as the Tigers improve to 19-7 overall and 14-6 in the conference.
The Muleriders shot 19 percent from the field, only making eight of 42 attempts from the field. As a team, the Tigers made more three-pointers (nine) than the Muleriders made total field goals.
The Tigers shot 44.6 percent from the floor, and after falling behind 3-2 to the Muleriders due to a Brette Wacha three-pointer, scored the next 20 points to put this game out of the Muleriders' reach. The Tigers 20-0 run lasted 9:50 seconds, ending with an Ariana Guinn three early in the second quarter.
Lakin Preisner led all scorers with 14 points on the night; the Tigers' leading scorer also grabbed 12 rebounds on the afternoon.
The Muleriders had a pair of players lead the team in scoring, with Olivia McWilliams and Erin Brinkley scoring five points each. McWilliams went 2-6 from the field, while recording a team-high five steals in the process. Brinkley shot 1-7 from the field, grabbing five rebounds and blocking a shot.
Junior Tamera Shaver led the team in rebounds with six and assists with three.
The Muleriders are 2-24 on the season and 1-19 in the GAC; they close their season out next week as they host Southern Nazarene on Thursday and Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday.
