OBU Softball Wins Big in Final Game vs NWOSU

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist split its softball doubleheader with Northwestern Oklahoma State winning the final game, 15-3. The Bison were beaten 7-5 in the first game. OBU won two games in the four-game series and moved its record to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the Great American Conference.

OBU resumes action Friday travelling to Henderson State to begin a four-game series.

Cheyenne Demaree and Franki Hull each smashed grand slams as part of a 10-run outburst in the first inning. Hull finished the game with three hits and added a fifth RBI with a double in the fourth.

Katie Long and Chandler Roberts teamed together in the circle for the win. The two pitchers allowed just seven combined hits and walked two batters.

In game two, OBU found itself down 6-0 entering the bottom half of the fourth. The Lady Bison strung together four runs in the inning highlighted by Aspen Grimes three-run double.

Other players who had notable efforts at bat were Hull collecting a pair of singles and a double. Tyra Garcia added two hits with a single and a triple.
