Blackface incident prompts school cultural training

SIMSBURY, Conn. (AP) — Officials with a Connecticut school say staff has held group discussions with students, and administrators have participated in cultural competency training since two students were seen on social media in what appeared to be blackface.
Simsbury Superintendent Matt Curtis says more training will follow after the incident involving two Simsbury High School students circulated online in late January.
His statements came during a school board meeting with residents and members of the local NAACP on Tuesday.
