March 3, 2019
GOODLAND, Kan. (AP) — Much of Kansas is expected to see another winter storm that could bring up to 8 inches (20.32 centimeters) of snow in northwestern parts of the state and up to 7 inches (17.78 centimeters) in eastern parts.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of the state. The storm is expected to hit Saturday evening and continue into Sunday. The service says areas southeast of Goodland will be hardest hit, with heavy snow, high winds and wind chills dangerously low — around negative 20 degrees (-28.89 Celsius). The Kansas City area could see up to 6 inches (15.24 centimeters) of snow.
The storm will make its way into Missouri, as well, where the weather service has issued a winter weather advisory starting late Saturday and for much of Sunday. The St. Louis area is expected to see up to 5 inches (12.7 centimeters) of snow.
Much of western and central Nebraska is also under a winter weather advisory.
