Arkansas bill would let DACA recipients get nursing licenses

 


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas lawmakers are considering a bill that would enable people in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, to get nursing licenses.

The Arkansas State Board of Nursing in 2017 began denying licenses to candidates in the program, which was started under during Barack Obama's presidency and allows people brought to the U.S. illegally as children to remain in the country.
