This past week Burlington FFA and 4-H members held a local educational event in the show barn at Burlington school for elementary students.
Several 4-H and FFA members brought in their show animals for all the students to see. The students were able to pet the animals which included goats, sheep, a baby lamb and pigs.
Mr. Bradshaw, FFA advisor, talked to the students about why they show animals, how they use the animal, how to take care of the animal and what the judges look for at a show. Professional shearer David Allen, in a quick, impressive manner, showed the kids the way to sheer a sheep...
