St. Patricks's Day

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, March was named for Mars, the Roman god of war. This was the time of year to resume military campaigns that had been interrupted by winter.
With March comes St. Patrick’s Day and the question “Was there really a St. Patrick and did he really drive the snakes out of Ireland?”
Patrick’s real name was Maewyn Succat. Born in Great Britain in around AD 400, he was kidnapped and relocated to Ireland where he became a slave who worked as a shepherd. After six years, he escaped and returned home where he had a dream that he should preach the gospel...
