Former Freedom coach sentenced

March 17, 2019

A felony case against a former Freedom coach has been dismissed and he has pled guilty to a new charge. Vincent Chad Warford, 46, who now lives in Locust Grove, was charged in October 2017 with soliciting sexual conduct or communications with a minor by use of technology.

On Monday, March 11, that Woods County charge was dismissed. Then he was charged with violation of Oklahoma Statute via computer, a felony. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for not more than five years or by a fine of not more than $5,000, or by both such imprisonment and fine.

The original charge was filed after a mother notified county law enforcement that she found messages from Warford to her then 14-year-old daughter through social media asking for naked pictures.

On March 11 Warford entered a guilty plea to the new charge. He received a deferred sentence that will continue until March 10, 2026, and was ordered to pay court costs, fees and assessments.
