The three men who won presidential elections in the 1920s – Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover – were political conservatives. Coolidge and Hoover were also conservative in their personal lives, but Harding was not.

Harding had at least two mistresses when he was president although he was married, albeit unhappily. He and one of his paramours often had romantic encounters in a White House closet, and he was reportedly the father of her daughter.
