Alva Public Schools are looking to the future through a strategic planning process begun last fall. The third phase of the four steps of the Continuous Strategic Improvement Plan was held on March 14.

The first phase involved the whole community, engaging the community, school staff and students through surveys and community forums.

In the second phase, a planning team made up of students, community members, administrators and teachers analyzed the data from the surveys and forums to develop goal areas. They then looked at the district's data sources such as demographics and facilities to set performance objectives and measures.

Phase Three held March 14 began with each goal area team determining what was needed to accomplish the performance objectives and meet performance measures. They decided on research-based initiatives and specific action steps to accomplish the initiatives. After determining the objectives, the initiatives to complete these objectives and performance measures, each goal area team set a timeline for completion of each performance objective and initiative.
