AUSTIN, Texas (March 25, 2019) – A sizzling second round gave Oklahoma Christian's Andres Brictson a share of the lead on Monday in the St. Edward's Invitational at Onion Creek Club's North Course.

Brictson, a sophomore from Merida, Mexico, shot a 5-under-par 65 on the 6,530-yard course – the best of the day by any of the 84 players in the field and matching the best by an OC player this season – and was at 2-under 138. That put him in a three-way tie with Joaquin Arguelies of Dallas Baptist (Texas) and Jake Stevenson of St. Mary's (Texas).

Brictson began his day with a 73 but zoomed up the leaderboard by playing his first four holes of the second round in 4-under, a run that included an eagle on the par-5 No. 5. He ended the round with four birdies and one bogey.

He wasn't the only OC player in the top 10, as junior Trevor Norby of Carlsbad, Calif. – coming off his first collegiate win last week in the Broncho Invitational at Oak Tree Country Club's East Course in Edmond, Okla. – put together rounds of 70 and 71 and was tied for 10th at 1-over 141. Norby also recorded a second-round eagle, doing so on the par-5 No. 12.

Senior Juan Pallach shot a 70 in the first round before a second-round 75 put him at 145, tied for 32nd. OC's other two starters, seniors Garrett White (73-74—147) and Cameron Brown (71-77—148), were tied for 41st. Playing as an individual, sophomore Jackson Phillips shot 77-81—158 and was tied for 77th.

No. 12-ranked OC posted team scores of 284 and 285 and the Eagles' 569 score put them in third in the 16-team field, 11 shots behind No. 10-ranked St. Mary's and five behind Western New Mexico. The Eagles were seven shots out of the lead, behind Western New Mexico, after the first round but pulled within two shots of St. Mary's – then in the lead – in the second round at one point.

The final round will begin at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
