SE's James Wins Playoff, SE Second at Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Southeastern's Zach James picked up his fourth individual title of the season after besting Lindenwood's Markus Lindgren on the second hole of a playoff and helping to lift the Savage Storm to a second-place finish at the Lindenwood Invitational at Missouri Bluffs in St. Charles, Mo.

SE shot a three-round score of 876, finishing tied with Central Oklahoma for second while both schools were seven shots off the top score posted by the host Lindenwood.

The Storm finished 12 shots ahead of Central Missouri in fourth while Winona State was fifth 15 shots back.

The tournament featured 20 teams and a total of 104 players.

James carded an opening round 71 and followed with a 72 on his second trip through the course. He bounced back on day two, matching the tourney's low round with a 68 to tie for first with a 211 and force a playoff.

In the playoff, both players would par the first hole before James would birdie the second hole for the victory.

Hayden Foster added a top-10 finish to his resume, posting a 71 on the first trip around before following up with a 73 and a 75 to card a 219 for the week and finish tied for ninth.

Jordan Holifield was next in with a three-round tally of 225 after carding rounds of 76, 72, and 77 to finish tied for 27th.

Bryce Hughes opened the week with a 73 and added a second-round 76 before finishing his event with a 77 and posting a 226 for the week to finish tied for 31st.

Ryan Ward rounded out the squad, recovering from an opening round 89 to post a 77 in round two and a 72 on day two, finishing at 238 in a tie for 64th.

Southeastern returns to action April 8-9 when it travels to Red Apple CC in Heber Springs, Ark., for the Harding Invitational.
