'Talking Tombstones' return
March 31, 2019
Alva Masonic Lodge 105, in partnership with the Cherokee Strip Museum, will present "Talking Tombstones."
This fun and historical event will take place in the Alva Municipal Cemetery on Saturday, April 27, beginning at 3 p.m. Tours will run every 20 minutes.
Attendees should meet at the covered Pavilion of Hatfield Park. A hot dog meal is included in the price of the ticket. People will be shuttled to the cemetery where they will board trailers with hay bales and begin an old fashioned-hay-rack ride. The trailers will be pulled by tractors (steps will be provided) and stop at each tombstone featured on the tour where eight people will come forward and tell their life stories. This is the second "Talking Tombstone" event to be held. Please do not miss this chance to learn history and have a great family outing.
Tickets must be purchased ahead of time. For more information on where to purchase tickets please call the museum at 580-327-2030.
