OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gov. Kevin Stitt has appointed a former Supreme Court justice who presided over the state's only trial involving the Oklahoma City bombing to the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

The Republican governor said Wednesday he has appointed Steven W. Taylor to the board that oversees the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education and its 25 colleges and universities. Taylor will serve a nine-year term, effective May 17.
