The Alva Goldbugs lost 10-2 after strong start versus Drummond High School Monday afternoon.

After scoring two runs in the first inning the Goldbugs began to struggle against the batting line-up from Drummond. In the third inning the Bugs allowed six runs on four hits and one error. Alva faced 10 batters during the inning.
Kaden Slater began by walking Seth Gray of Drummond, who also stole second base after a wild pitch by Slater. Drummond's Garret Deltas hit a double while advancing Seth Gray to third base. Slater's pitch couldn't be stopped by Kory Faulkner. A wild throw after tracking the ball down resulted in an error on the the same play, which allowed both Seth Gray and Garret Deltas to score, tying the game at two apiece. Bradon Longpine of Drummond hit a 2 RBI/double to score the next two runs for the Bulldogs. Wyatt Gray of the Bulldogs hit an RBI/double to score the next next run. And finally Bryce Longpine hit an RBI/single to give Drummond its sixth run of the inning.
The rough third inning by the Goldbugs put the game out of reach. Over the course of the next three innings the Bulldogs went on to score four more runs. The game ended after the top of the sixth inning.
