2019 Woods County Stocker Cattle contest results

 

Mackinze Mackey, junior age group, took first place in the Heifer Division at the 2019 Woods County Stocker Cattle Contest.

Colby Mackey placed first in the senior age group of the steer division of the Woods County Stocker Cattle contest. In the junior age group, first place went to Cade Mackey of Alva 4-H. Mackinze Mackey placed first in the heifer division of the junior age group.

The cattle were weighed on Nov. 11, 2018, to begin the contest. Final weights were taken on March 3, 2018, and the record books were submitted. Points were awarded for the cattle performance in the average-daily-gain and increased-stocker-value categories as well as the contestant's record book quality and interview proficiency.

Thanks goes to stocker contest committee members Jimmie Allen, Mike Mackey, Chad Budy, Cody McMurphy and Tim Ohm. The contest was coordinated by Greg Highfill, Woods County OSU Extension Educator Ag/4-H.
