Davis St. fire started on front porch

Alva firefighters responded to this fire at 1501 Davis St. Tuesday morning. After gaining access to the attic, they quickly extinguished the fire.
The Alva Fire Department responded to a fire at 8:58 a.m. Tuesday at 1501 Davis St. Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Miller said the fire started on the front porch and spread to the front living room of the residence. Firefighters gained access to the attic area and quickly knocked down the fire.
One person was taken to the hospital to be checked out for minor injuries.
By 1 p.m. the fire department had cleared the scene and returned to the station....
